Celebrating Sporting Excellence: Melton Sports Alliance Awards Unveil Remarkable Finalists

The Melton Sports Alliance Awards have unveiled the regional finalists, representing a tapestry of talent, dedication, and enthusiasm in the realm of sports and physical activity. In the category of Let's Get Moving School Awards, the passion for activity and athleticism is commendable among nominees Captain Close Primary School, Ab Kettleby Primary School, and Old Dalby Primary School. These schools have ignited a passion for movement and health in their young learners.

The Primary School Team of the Year category, sponsored by Mowbray Education Trust, spotlights the exceptional prowess of teams from Waltham on the Wolds, Brownlow, and Great Dalby, showcasing excellence in cross-country, swimming, and netball, respectively.

Moving into the Secondary School Team of the Year, the nominees exemplify the strength and skill in sports. Long Field Spencer Academy, John Ferneley College, and Birch Wood School demonstrate excellence in NFL Flag, girls' football, and Boccia, setting high standards.

Junior categories highlight the rising stars. Melkham U16's Girls Rugby Team and Melton Town U10's Football Team showcase incredible promise and talent, recognised in the Junior Team of the Year category. The Junior Club of the Year is a testament to the support and infrastructure provided by Melton & District Indoor Bowls Club Junior Section and Performing Stars.

The recognition of individual achievements is equally noteworthy. The nominees for Junior Sportsperson of the Year and Let's Get Moving Young Hero Award illustrate the talent and the spirit of the individuals who have shown exceptional promise and resilience in their respective sports and endeavors.

The adult categories celebrate the teams and individuals who have excelled in their sporting domains. The Group/Club of the Year nominations reflect the diversity and richness of sports in the region, be it in tennis, swimming, Scottish country dancing, or karate. The Adult Awards, including Team of the Year and Let's Get Moving Outstanding Contribution Award, acknowledge the dedication and outstanding achievements of individuals and groups in the field of sports and physical activity.
